Inspiration

Rituals was inspired by the timeless cycles that shape life — from the birth of the cosmos to the first human gestures of unity.
The idea came from observing how, through every era, humans have gathered around a circle — of fire, of worship, of creation — as if echoing the first pulse of the universe itself.
It’s a meditation on what connects us beyond time: the need to belong, to build, to believe.

What It Does

The film visually retraces the great continuum of existence — from cosmic origins to human civilization and a near future.
Using AI-generated imagery and music, Rituals creates a poetic flow of evolving forms: galaxies, cells, tribes, temples, cities, and modern societies.
The circular motif guides the viewer through these transformations, symbolizing the eternal recurrence of creation and connection.

How We Built It

  • Visuals: Generated in Midjourney V7, combining realism and abstraction
  • Animations: Created with Kling 2.5 for motion and continuity
  • Editing & Grading: Assembled in DaVinci Resolve
  • Music: An original score with ethnic percussion, crowd choirs, and a theremin intro, composed and mixed in Logic Pro X
  • Final Output: 4 min 10 sec, 1280x720 (H.264, AAC)

Challenges We Ran Into

Balancing symbolism and clarity was a key challenge — finding visuals that evoke universal meaning without becoming literal.
Ensuring smooth visual transitions between vastly different eras (cosmic, prehistoric, ancient, futuristic) required iterative testing of prompts and motion sequences.
Maintaining emotional coherence across purely AI-generated imagery was also a creative and technical test.
