How it could look in action.
We've choosen to focus on the IoT-track where JCDecaux and futurice gave us the challenge to hack a connected interactive bus stop supercharged by a huge monitor driven by a web browser.
What it does
Our idea is to create a a window between remote locations in the world. We will achive this by equiping every bus stop with a real time camera and then connect it with another random bus stop somewhere in the world.
How we built it
As the bus stops are already built on web technologies we've choose to focus on using modern web API's for peer to peer video communications coupled with a JSON REST API backend for matchmaking random bus stops around the world.
Challenges we ran into
We thought it would be fairly simple and that it would be pretty quick to finish. Well, that was wrong! The P2P connection wouldn't work until almost 02 saturday and the panic ensued.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We overcame the panic and pulled through as a team!
What we learned
Things will not go as planned, but there is always a solution. A good thing in the future would be to plan alternative solutions ahead.
