Inspiration

The US currently has detailed risk assessments for natural disasters based on location, but these tools aren't available globally, so we decided to make some.

What it does

Currently it gives an assessment on risk of earthquakes based on proximity to nearby severe earthquakes in the past 120 years

How we built it

We built the project using JavaScript, using some React functions on the frontend and Express on the backend.

Challenges we ran into

It was tough coming up with an idea that was both possible to do and unique, and once we started, it was difficult to effectively use React.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of getting this web app mostly functional

What we learned

We learned how to develop a full stack web app using JavaScript

What's next for Risk of Bad Things

We plan on potentially expanding our project to other natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods
