This DAPP is made for the XRP EVM Sidechain and is deployed on it. One can deploy their own Ticket Booking Portal by cloning the GitHub repo, filling in required fields in .env, and using npx hardhat run src/backend/scripts/deploy.js --network xrplEvmSidechain

Inspiration

In a world filled with speculations about the transformative power of web3, the absence of a mainstream web3 service for everyday use cases is evident. While web3 excels in securing critical data such as finances, health records, and contracts, its potential in the realm of event tickets—a $144 billion industry—is largely untapped. This realization sparked the inspiration behind RipTix.

What it does

RipTix introduces a groundbreaking concept to the events industry by converting tickets into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Users can seamlessly create personalized NFT tickets for their events, complete with customizable features. Attendees, in turn, can effortlessly discover, reserve, and own these exclusive digital tickets through an intuitive platform.

How we built it

Building RipTix involved a multidisciplinary approach. We integrated smart contract functionality on a blockchain, developed an intuitive user interface for ticket creation and booking, and implemented robust security measures to ensure the integrity of the NFTs. The combination of web development, blockchain expertise, and user experience design was key to bringing RipTix to life.

Challenges we ran into

One of the primary challenges we encountered was ensuring a seamless integration between the blockchain and the user interface. Overcoming the complexities of NFT creation, transferability, and storage required meticulous problem-solving. Additionally, maintaining a balance between security and user-friendliness presented a constant challenge throughout the development process.

Accomplishment

Our primary accomplishment lies in bridging the gap between speculative ideas about web3 and the reality of daily utility. RipTix successfully transforms NFTs, often associated with niche applications, into a practical solution for event tickets—a sector representing a substantial share of the global economy. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to marrying innovation with real-world applicability.

What we learned

The journey of creating RipTix was a tremendous learning experience. We deepened our understanding of blockchain integration, honed our skills in smart contract development, and gained valuable insights into the nuances of user experience design within a decentralized context. The challenges we faced provided invaluable lessons that will undoubtedly shape our future endeavors.

What's next for RipTix

As RipTix moves forward, our vision extends beyond the hackathon. We aim to refine and expand our solution, exploring further integrations within the XRP ecosystem. Our commitment is not just to create a hackathon project but to contribute to the ongoing evolution of decentralized applications on the XRP EVM compatible chain. RipTix is poised to be a trailblazer in the intersection of events, blockchain, and the limitless potential of the XRP platform.
