Inspiration
We were inspired by the fact that our oceans are filled with a mind-blowing 2.25 trillion pieces of trash, and it's a huge problem for the planet.
What it does
Riptide the shark autonomously swims in the ocean collecting, carboard, paper, glass, plastic, trash, and metal by eating it
How we built it
We built it using, a Raspberry Pi 5, an Arduino Uno, Servo Motors, DC Motors, Wheels, a C270 Logitech Webcam, a hollow shark, Cardboard, Aluminum, and TensorFlow
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were, trying to get TensorFlow and python to work together, making a car from DC motors and wheels, trying to 3D print our shark, and uploading 22,500 pictures to our TensorFlow model.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Everything had worked as we hoped it would and were very proud of it.
What's next for Riptide: The King of Ocean Cleaning
Next for Riptide would be, making him swim properly in the ocean, making our TensorFlow 100% accurate, and better materials such as, waterproof cases for all our components.
