Angel Investing

Inspiration

We were inspired to start our business because we saw a need for more investment opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs. We wanted to help those businesses grow and succeed by providing them with the needed funding and resources.

What it does

Rinvest allows small businesses/entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to investors in a simplistic manner that makes it easy for people to get into investing and get funds for their businesses.

How we built it

We used react.js and CSS for the front end and Firebase for the backend portion.

Challenges we ran into

Formatting accurately to make our product appealing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to quickly create a neat front-end UI using React JS and connect it to a back-end supported by Google Cloud's Firebase.

What we learned

We learned from working on this team project the importance of effective communication, a shared goal, and the ability to come together and collaborate. Through this experience, we also gained valuable skills such as problem-solving, time management, and the ability to work well with others.

What's next for Rinvest

Our next steps are to make the project more feature-rich before integrating it into RBC's investing platform. Specifically, we want to add a feature for upvoting and downvoting to give users a more catered experience by suggesting what's more akin to their preferences. Additionally, we want to add a tag-based filtration option that allows users to search for specific types of businesses that they want to explore.
