The journey involved seamlessly integrating user-friendly interfaces with a robust backend powered by Firebase and Flask, enhancing our skills in full-stack development.

Building the Solution

Project Rigor is not just a fitness app; it's a companion that empowers users to personalize workouts and effortlessly track calories. Leveraging API calls, our platform dynamically fetches exercises, enabling users to tailor routines based on muscle groups and difficulty levels. The backend, powered by Firebase, facilitates a seamless user authentication system, ensuring a secure and personalized fitness experience. Additionally, we incorporated the Cloud Vision API for advanced image recognition capabilities, enhancing the overall functionality of the app.

I utilized the Google Cloud Vision API to implement food detection, combined with a nutrition API to obtain information about the detected foods, such as calories, protein, and fat content. This functionality enables users to conveniently track their calorie intake.

Additionally, I integrated OpenCV into the system, allowing users to capture images of their food. The application processes these images to calculate and display the nutritional content of the photographed food items.

Furthermore, I configured both Django and Flask to establish a seamless connection between the frontend and backend components of the application. This ensures a smooth and integrated user experience, enabling efficient communication and data transfer between different parts of the system.

I integrated Firebase into our project, incorporating HTML and CSS for seamless user interfaces. Leveraging Google authentication, our platform ensures secure and personalized user experiences. Additionally, we harnessed the power of various APIs to enhance functionality. This includes the Google Cloud Vision API, allowing our program to assign labels and identify objects in photos. Furthermore, we integrated a Nutrition API to provide users with nutritional information based on images of food. The combination of Firebase, HTML, CSS, and Google authentication, along with diverse APIs, enriches our platform with robust features and capabilities.
