Inspiration

The project wasn’t inspired by any single source. I suppose it’s a mixture of various things I’ve read or encountered throughout my life, such as The Cyberiad by Stanisław Lem, different cartoons and even some wonderful children's stop motion films like Colargol.

What it does

It presents a simple story about a robot playing the guitar and the challenges he encounters along the way.

How we built it

The film was created by generating initial frames with AI image-generation tools, primarily Nanobanana. These images were then animated using Kling and Hailuo. The music and all sound effects were produced with ElevenLabs, and everything was assembled in CapCut.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenges included maintaining character consistency and preventing loss of quality or resolution, which often led to noticeable changes in appearance. Another difficulty involved avoiding strange character movements during animation, such as the sudden appearance of a third leg or heads swapping between different characters within the same frame.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m simply happy that I was able to create something fairly close to what I had imagined, and to do it in such a short time.

What we learned

I simply learned how to use different AI tools and how to prompt more effectively.

What's next for Riff & Rock

I have several ideas for creating more music videos featuring the same characters.
