Inspiration
After noticing the side effects of social isolation affecting the people around us and the lack of connection in our community, an idea sparked in our heads, leading us to create this project.
What it does
Our project connects people in the community who are looking for a ride to people who want to carpool with others.
How we built it
mysql database that is connected to node.js backend.
HOW TO OPEN
Please open our project using a live server for example vscode's live server because we used type=module for out javascript files causing a CORS error without a server
Challenges we ran into
Making the server and database accessible to collaborate on.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is the first time creating a self directed project with HTML, CSS and JavaScript for most of us so we are very proud of what we were able to do.
What we learned
A lot of features of CSS and bootstrap that we didn't know before. Creating a server and database to hold out data.
What's next for RideShare
RideShare has major applications in communities all around the world. We hope to turn it into an app and website that is available worldwide to build stronger communities.
