Inspiration
As college students who are on a budget when traveling from school to the airport, or from campus to a different city, we found it difficult to coordinate rides with other students. The facebook or groupme groupchats are always flooding with students scrambling to find people to carpool with at the last minute to save money.
What it does
Ride Along finds and pre-schedules passengers who are headed between the same start and final location as each driver.
How we built it
Built using Bubble.io framework. Utilized Google Maps API
Challenges we ran into
Certain annoyances when using Bubble and figuring out how to use it. Had style issues with alignment, and certain functionalities were confusing at first and required debugging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using the Bubble framework properly and their built in backend data feature. Getting buttons and priority features implemented well, and having a decent MVP to present.
What we learned
There are a lot of challenges when integrating multiple features together. Getting a proper workflow is tricky and takes lots of debugging and time.
What's next for Ride Along
We want to get a Google Maps API key to properly be able to deploy the web app and be able to functionally use it. There are other features we wanted to implement, such as creating messages between users, etc.
Built With
- bubble.io
