Inspiration
The genre of deckbuilding roguelikes has been an integral part of our lives, and the hours spent learning the synergies and gameplay. We truly do love the genre, and wanted to try our hands at making something we would want to continue to develop along the line
What it does
Entertain! We wanted to create a simple premise that could captivate a wide variety of individuals.
How we built it
The software is entirely made using Godot, a node based game engine that we've had limited experience with in the past. Our first few hours were spent discussing and iterating on how we can best put together our project.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many obstacles after our architecture discussion with GitHub, In which it replaced and deleted unique UID for each scene, threatened to delete files and overall make the file sharing service a challenge in of itself.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though we didn't get all that we wanted to accomplish done, we gave ourself ample structure and room to expand on the game and not have to fret over the foundations in the future
What we learned
We learned across our group, from art to how signals work, everyone of us managed to walk away with a new experience of Godot and the terrors of badly commented code and file issues.
What's next for Ric Rac Rouge
We want to continue to iterate and improve upon our idea! Polishing it to a fine degree and crafting together synergies that bring excitement and theorycrafting to our game's front door.
