Inspiration

The inception of RhythmRoots sprang from a personal challenge and a deep-seated passion for music. As the strength of my voice waned over the years, I was moved to find a way to preserve the essence of my sound. Working with a vocal therapy coach rekindled my love for singing and underscored the importance of accessibility in music creation. Inspired by the user-friendly nature of conversational AI, like ChatGPT, I set out to create a platform that could give a voice to those who felt theirs fading, ensuring their musical spark could still ignite the world.

What it does

RhythmRoots acts as a digital crucible, melding the past with the present. Users can upload their previous lyrics, and the GPT-powered AI weaves these into new compositions, backed by the timbre and tone of their own voice, synthesized through Eleven Labs' technology. The platform is designed to be intuitive, mirroring the simplicity and approachability of conversational AI interfaces.

How we built it

The construction of RhythmRoots is a tapestry of personal lyrics, AI ingenuity, and user-centric design. I utilized GPT to ingest my library of lyrics, teaching the AI the rhythms and patterns of my songwriting. This was the cornerstone, upon which the rest of the platform was architected, ensuring a seamless fusion between the AI's capabilities and the user's creative vision.

Challenges we ran into

Bridging the gap between the GPT and my website via an API. Obtaining a rich enough dataset of vocals for Eleven Labs. The instant voice cloning tool does not resemble my singing voice, however I am optimistic about the professional voice cloning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The journey to create RhythmRoots has been a collaborative triumph. A heartfelt thank you to Parth for the invaluable assistance with the GPT. Additionally, the inspiration to upgrade to GPT-4 came from speaking with Jeffrey. Finally, it was the courage of everyone who stood up to present their ideas that propelled me to take the first steps.

What we learned

I’ve learned that while delving into coding can be a deep rabbit hole. By starting with the basics, I've been able to lay a solid foundation without getting lost in complexities that may not serve the project's core objectives.

What's next for RhythmRoots

Looking to the horizon, RhythmRoots aims to be more than just another interface layered over ChatGPT. The ambition is to create a distinctive moat around the project, ensuring it stands out in a crowded market. Engaging with legal professionals to understand intellectual property rights will be a crucial step towards protecting the uniqueness of the platform. Moreover, the focus will shift towards monetization strategies, finding the right markets and clients willing to invest in the innovative services RhythmRoots offers. The goal is not just to launch a product but to cultivate an invaluable tool that resonates with and is sought after by the music industry.
