Inspiration

When coming to RHS, our team was had a hard time figuring out the carpool situation, so we decided to make an app that would help other people who were in a similar predicament.

What it does

Our app connects teens with their friends. It will create a platform where friends can discuss and organize their rides. Parents can also monitor their children and where they go.

How we built it

Our app's frontend is made using React Native and Expo. Our backend is coded using Java, but we have not yet connected the frontend with the backend.

Challenges we ran into

Nobody has had any experience with the languages that we used for the project. The frontend devs have had no experience with React Native and the backend devs have never used java for backend development even though they have had experience with the language itself.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to make a working user interface even though we were not able to add too much functionality to the program.

What we learned

We gained a lot of exposure to languages that we did not have any experience with.

What's next for Carpool Application

If we had more time we would have been able to add more functionality and features to our application.
