Inspiration

Women have shaped history, communities, and families in countless ways, yet many of their stories remain invisible. In my case, I didn't grow admiring any women, and I've had to learn the hard way to shape myself, but in my adult life, I've found the need to get to know more and more women that have stood up for themselves in the public eye, or in their own private lives, and also, appreciate the ones that are sorrounding me everyday through my life. I always want to find more and more women from whom I can learn what I lack, and I think this is a great way to do it!

What it does

Rewrite is a platform where users can discover inspiring stories of women and contribute their own stories of women in their own lives. The app delivers daily inspiration and allows users to save, share, and build a personal timeline of the women who inspire them and from the ones we can all learn from.

How we built it

We designed the experience using UX/UI principles focused on storytelling and accessibility. The platform combines a structured story submission flow with AI assistance to transform user contributions into readable profiles and interactive timelines.

Challenges we ran into

We tried to use AI tools to build it from scratch, but as designers, we knew we could do it better, so our users could identify with the app more. So we put aside the frustrating AI tools and use the ones we already know and love.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a storytelling system that allows inspiration to come not only from famous women, but also from the women around us. Our platform transforms individual stories into a collective archive of women’s impact.

For me the most important is the core of our project, give voice to figures in history that were not heard and with that, see the world we live in with a different perspective, a more empathetic, hard working, proud, caring and loving, as is the women perspective.

What we learned

We learned how powerful structured storytelling can be in making personal experiences discoverable and relatable. We also realized how many inspiring stories exist around us that simply haven’t had a place to be shared.

What's next for ReWrite App

Next, I think we should use the AI tools to deploy the app and try to create a community, spread the word, expand the platform with community features, better story discovery through tags and categories, and partnerships with educational and cultural institutions to grow the archive of women’s stories.

Maybe with the visibility of the Hackathon and the sponsors, we can get someone interested in investing in it.
