Revo – Daily Planner Todo List

Inspiration

Most todo apps are full of clutter and too many steps. I wanted something simple: speak or type a task, and the app should figure out the rest. That idea inspired me to build Revo, a planner that feels natural and easy to use.

What it does

Revo turns your spoken or typed tasks into organized reminders. It syncs with Apple Reminders, works across devices, and even has a widget for quick access. Notifications and reminders are powered by OneSignal. Revo also uses smart re-engagement tools to bring inactive users back.

How we built it

• Flutter for building the cross-platform app.
• RevenueCat to handle purchases and special offers.
• OneSignal API for notifications and re-engagement journeys.
• Tested with around 100 TestFlight users before launch to collect feedback and improve the app.

Challenges we ran into

• After launch, I struggled to get traction and attract users.
• Handling natural language input like “next Friday” vs “this Friday” was tricky.
• Re-engaging inactive users was tough, but OneSignal Journeys helped me bring back a little portion of them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Got amazing feedback from 100 early testers, which helped shape the app.
• Ran a free lifetime giveaway that boosted traction and ranking, bringing in many new users.
• Built a clean and simple design that users praised for being easy to use.

What we learned

• Building an app is only half the job, marketing and engagement are just as important.
• Testers and feedback loops are key to making a product better.
• Using tools like RevenueCat and OneSignal can save time and help with both monetization and growth.

• Add support for more natural language cases and smarter task recognition.
• Explore Android support to reach more users.
• Keep experimenting with re-engagement strategies to boost long-term use.
