Fast fashion is a term used to describe a highly profitable business model based on replicating catwalk trends and high-fashion designs, and mass-producing them at low cost
Inspiration
1 jacket uses 10,330 liters of water to grow the cotton, which is equivalent to 24 years worth of drinking water for 1 person. Synthetic fabrics like nylon, polyester, etc. use almost 342 million barrels of oil in a year! Another fast fashion fabric called viscose ,is made 33% from threatened forests and 70% of the harvested wood is dumped as waste These are the facts which inspired us to do something about it
What it does
The solution is to not stop it directly but start reusing things much longer. Here is a fun fact , Just Reusing clothes for 9 months longer than we do now , reduces your carbon footprint by 30 % . So we have proposed an app ,which allows people to reuse items that have no value to the owner but could be really useful for someone else and sell those items for FREE!
How we built it
We used Figma for building the prototype , and Canva for the pitch deck.
Challenges we ran into
We had to dig a bit deeper for the facts , but we were able to get them as a team!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learnt how to use Figma and found the basis for doing such research from the next time !
What we learned
- How to research and analyze real world problems
- Figma
What's next for Revive
We plan to make this into a full fledged app soon . And plan to add more features to it
Built With
