Revival to Cinema Bot | Mobile App

Inspiration

Fitting the HackUMBC's Cinema theme, our team was inspired by the advancement of society; movie theaters have begun utilizing technology. We wanted to create an app that will better user experience and eliminate waiting in line: Purchasing snacks, tickets, and even merchandise.

What it does

Movie customers are able to have the full movie experience at your fingertips. Display a menu where users can purchase movie tickets, pre-order food- that will be delivered to your seat by person, and/or buy merchandise. Afterwards, checkout and see total cost.

How we built it

Coding in Python programming language, we used a mix of PyCharm IDE and Google Collaborate to develop our program.

Challenges we ran into

The part that was most difficult was incorporating our functions in Google Collaborate. There were updating buffers and we all had to understand and interpret each other's code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the experience earned, giving us insight on what our future job experience may be like. Additionally, we are happy to create a mobile app that can help cinemas advance and more importantly, help enhance the movie experience for impaired customers.

We better advanced our Python skills along with teamwork experience.

What's next for Revival to Cinema Bot | Mobile App

In the future, we would love to add more features. One being where users can scan trailer codes in the previews. The app will scan a QR code or a basic code to connect to the trailer playing to find more details (when premiered, price, actors, etc). In addition, a live view that informs viewers of the point they are in at the movie. For example, if they arrive late it displays the previews they missed and what had already happened in the movie.
