Project Story

Inspiration

The inspiration for ReVision came from our desire to enhance memory and engage users through augmented reality. We were inspired of AR to create an interactive and entertaining memory game that combines the real world with digital experiences.

What it does

ReVision is an augmented reality app that enables users to visualize selected images and play an engaging memory game. When prompted with a location, users have 60 seconds to select the perfect match from the image options provided. The app utilizes AR to superimpose these images seamlessly into the user's environment, enhancing the gaming experience.

How we built it

We built ReVision using a combination of AR development tools and platforms, including ARKit. Our team collaborated to design and develop the user interface on XCode through SwiftUI, create the image recognition and matching algorithms, and integrate the augmented reality features. The development process involved coding, testing, and iterating to ensure a smooth and immersive user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges we faced was optimizing the AR rendering for various devices and ensuring consistent performance across different platforms presented another significant challenge. Overcoming these technical hurdles required extensive problem-solving and collaboration among team members.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully creating an engaging AR app that seamlessly blends digital elements with the real world to provide users with an enjoyable and stimulating memory game experience.

What we learned

Through the development of ReVision, we gained valuable experience in AR development and user interface design. We learned how to optimize AR applications for different devices and improve image processing efficiency. This project also honed our teamwork and problem-solving abilities, enhancing technical expertise and experience.

What's next for ReVision

In the future, we plan to enhance ReVision by incorporating additional features such as multiplayer capabilities, different difficulty levels, and a broader range of image categories for the memory game. We would like to implement a versus and co-op gamemode, allowing players to battle head-to-head in who can choose the correct picture from the same set, and allowing players to work together to match photos. We also aim to optimize the app's performance further and explore potential partnerships to expand its reach to a wider audience. Ultimately, we envision ReVision becoming a go-to AR memory game app, providing both entertainment and cognitive benefits to users.
