Inspiration
Every exam season the same thing happens: I make a revision plan, miss one day, and the whole schedule falls apart. I wanted a planner that works backwards from the exam date and fixes itself when I slip, instead of me redoing the entire plan by hand.
What it does
Revision Radar takes your syllabus and your exam date. You add each chapter with a weight (heavy / normal / light) and how confident you feel about it (weak / okay / strong). It then builds a day-by-day plan working backwards from the exam: weak and heavy chapters get the earliest blocks, and every chapter gets a revision pass before the exam day. If you slip a day, one click re-cuts the whole plan, marks the day as missed, and shows a panic flag when the days left no longer fit what is still needed.
How I built it
A single-page app in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no backend: everything lives in localStorage. I built it plan-first using the Devpost Learn Skill Pack: scope.md and prd.md before touching code, then a spec, then the scheduler plus a small test suite for it. The app is deployed on GitHub Pages.
Challenges I ran into
The hardest part was the backwards scheduler: fitting weighted blocks into the days that are left, ordering revision passes before the exam, and making the re-cut keep already-finished work intact while squeezing the rest forward.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The slip button does exactly what I wanted: one click and the plan re-cuts itself, including a PANIC state when there are more days needed than days left.
What I learned
How much clarity comes from writing the PRD and spec before writing code, and how much faster a tiny test file catches scheduler bugs than eyeballing the UI.
