Inspiration
The inspiration came from playing wordle everyday, especially when facing the boredom of school.
What it does
Currently, we have two "upside-down" versions of NYTimes's Wordle and Hasbro's Connect 4.
How we built it
We built the site with web technologies: React.js, Typescript, Chakra, and Vercel.
Challenges we ran into
Oddly enough, the biggest challenge we faced was brainstorming the initial idea. After hours of ideation, we zoned in on something we were passionate about: wordle. During the development process, we faced a weird bug with connect 4 where we couldn't flip each individual column and sync the state. However, after debugging for quite a large chunk of time, we overcame the hurdle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I've always seen and played wordle variations, like AoPS's math based variation; however, today I was finally able to create my own implementation that fell within the hackathon's theme.
What we learned
Oddly enough, there are 12478 5-letter words.
What's next for Reversed Games
We'll be adding more reversed games, for example sudoko. In addition, adding a multiplayer version that pair random players together would amp up the website's experience.
