Inspiration\ Texas A&M University has a rich history, vibrant traditions, and a strong sense of community. We wanted to create an engaging way for students and visitors to explore the campus, learn about its culture, and connect with fellow Aggies. Inspired by adventure games, campus tours, and trivia competitions, Aggie Adventure combines exploration, friendly rivalry, and tradition-driven gameplay to create a fun and educational experience.
What it does\ Aggie Adventure is a mobile game that turns the Texas A&M campus into an interactive playground. Players explore real-world landmarks, engage in trivia battles, and earn rewards while caring for a virtual pet. The game features:
Avatar customization with various styles and outfits
A buddy system where players start with Reveille X and unlock new companions
Trivia battles at key campus landmarks
Step-tracking for movement-based rewards
In-game currency that can be redeemed for avatar accessories and real-world discounts
Push notifications for class schedules, hydration reminders, and campus events
How we built it\ We designed the game using a combination of technologies:
Unity for game development and animations
Google Maps API for real-world location tracking and navigation
Firebase for user authentication and game data storage
Python and Flask for backend logic and trivia database management
AI-powered chatbot (Dr. Tatiana) for guiding players through trivia and providing explanations
React Native for mobile UI/UX design
