Inspiration
After an interruption, the hard part can be finding where to restart. ReturnCue is built for distracted, overloaded days: capture quickly, keep the daily plan small, and leave a visible next action.
What it does
Inbox accepts a thought and an optional next step without demanding a full plan. Today protects at most three musts, surfaces quick wins and gentle rescue choices, and recognizes small completed steps. Focus supports short commitments, one-tap interruption capture, and a Return Path that preserves the next action even when the task stays open.
Projects is an optional execution library. The basic Today, Inbox, and Focus loop stays useful for free. On iOS and macOS, Premium unlocks creating and reusing personal routines and templates through monthly, annual, or lifetime options.
How we built it
We used SwiftUI with repository and use-case boundaries. RevenueCat manages purchase and Premium entitlement status, with Apple's StoreKit purchase and restoration flow. The app supports English, Japanese, Spanish, German, and French. AI tools, including Codex, assisted implementation, testing, and release preparation; AI is not required for the daily planning loop.
Challenges
Keeping the experience small required explicit limits: three musts, optional notification permission, a useful free core, and recovery language that avoids overdue pressure. We also kept native platform purchase, accessibility, signing, and review evidence separate.
Accomplishments and lessons
ReturnCue 1.0 was first publicly released on September 30, 2026. iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro share one App Store record. This entry demonstrates the core recovery workflow and personal routine creation on Mac. RevenueCat powers Premium access on iOS and macOS; no purchase transaction is shown in the demo. Public downloads, revenue, and retention have not yet been measured; local tests and Sandbox purchases are not presented as traction.
What's next
Gather feedback on capture friction and the clarity of the Return Path. A later visionOS submission will correct its platform description and update its subscription support.
