Inspiration
Wanted to make my own gaming console.
What it does
It's a gaming emulator that plays ROMs from a wide variety of retro gaming consoles--SNES, NES, N64, GBA, etc.
How I built it
Purchased a 3D printed case, Raspberry Pi 2, USB controllers, and an HDMI cord. Assembled the Pi in the housing. Side loaded the Retropie software via a micro SD card. Configured the controllers. And then loaded ROMs via a USB drive.
Challenges I ran into
I was initially worried the software wouldn't flash properly, but this is one of the easiest flashes I've ever done.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Having a fully finished build that is 100% functional.
What I learned
Didn't learn a lot of new material since I was used to doing more complicated flashes than this. I really feel that it was just good to get a whole project together.
What's next for Retropie SNES Console
Shipped this with about 100+ ROMs on it to my Cousin so her and the kids could play retro games. <3
