Inspiration
The project was inspired by a workplace of mine looking for an app. I have also always been charmed by the way user interfaces were designed in the early desktop era.
What it does
It allows for a user to have access to employee information, scheduling and inventory.
How we built it
It is built in java.
Challenges we ran into
The program has multiple interface elements. Although not particularly complicated, there were constant bugs in trying to get all of the interface elements working together with an admittedly aging API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It actually works and I was able to get it to work in an extremely limited amount of time while not having worked with java in a while.
What we learned
How to use multiple elements effectively and how planning helps prioritizing tasks.
What's next for Retro Project UI
The project will probably be expanded upon, eventually resembling a deep structure in a 90s shell.
