Inspiration
Job applications-ல் ஒவ்வொரு jobக்கும் resume-ஐ manually customize செய்வது time-consuming. Many students also struggle to understand ATS requirements and identify missing skills. We wanted to build a simple AI-powered tool that makes resume tailoring faster and easier.
What it does
ResumeTailor AI helps users create and improve job-ready resumes. It analyzes a resume against a job description, identifies relevant skills and gaps, provides ATS-focused feedback, and generates tailored resume content while keeping the user's actual experience intact.
How we built it
We built ResumeTailor AI as a web application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AI/LLM APIs, and cloud-based deployment. The application processes resume and job-description content, uses an AI workflow for analysis, and presents recommendations through a simple user interface.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was making the AI understand both the resume and job description while generating relevant improvements without inventing experience or skills. We also focused on making the AI output practical, clear, and useful for students.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building an end-to-end AI-powered resume platform that combines resume building, job-specific tailoring, and ATS-focused analysis in one place. We designed the workflow to be simple and practical for students and job seekers.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate AI into a real-world application and design workflows around structured user input. We also learned that good AI products need clear prompts, validation, understandable results, and a user-friendly experience.
What's next for ResumeTailor AI
We plan to improve resume analysis, add personalized career recommendations, support more resume formats, improve job-description matching, and provide deeper skill-gap insights. We also want to make the platform more useful for students preparing for internships and placements.
