How we built itResumeIQ – Complete Project Story
ResumeIQ is an AI-powered resume analysis system designed to help students and job seekers improve their resumes. The main idea behind the project is to make resume evaluation easier, faster, and more personalized.
The problem we identified was that many students create resumes without knowing whether their skills, projects, keywords, and overall formatting match the requirements of a particular job role. They often don't know what is missing or how to improve their resume.
To solve this problem, we developed ResumeIQ. The user uploads their resume, and the system analyzes the content. It extracts important information such as skills, education, experience, projects, and keywords. The system then evaluates the resume based on factors such as relevance, completeness, structure, and job-role alignment.
One of the important features is ATS-friendly analysis. Since many companies use Applicant Tracking Systems to filter resumes, ResumeIQ checks whether the resume contains relevant keywords and has a suitable structure.
The system can also provide personalized suggestions. For example, if a user is applying for a software-development role and important technical skills or keywords are missing, ResumeIQ can suggest areas that could be improved.

The project can be divided into several major modules:
Resume Upload – User uploads their resume in a supported format. Resume Parser – Extracts text and important information from the document. Skill & Keyword Extraction – Identifies technical skills, soft skills, projects, education, and relevant keywords. AI Analysis – Evaluates the resume according to the selected job role. ATS Analysis – Checks keywords, structure, readability, and other ATS-related factors. Resume Score – Generates an overall score to show how strong the resume is. Personalized Feedback – Provides actionable suggestions for improvement.
