Inspiration
As a career coach, I saw talented job seekers get overlooked because their resumes failed ATS scans—resumes full of potential, but missing the right keywords or format. I wanted to build a tool that levels the playing field, combining cutting-edge animation (to make it intuitive) with AI-driven insights (to make it effective).
What it does
ResumeAI Pro optimizes resumes for ATS compatibility, analyzes job match alignment, suggests critical keywords, and rewrites content to stand out—all wrapped in a visually immersive, interactive interface that makes the process intuitive and engaging.
How we built it
We started with Figma for high-fidelity UI/UX design, then used HTML5/CSS3 (TailwindCSS) for core styling. JavaScript/GSAP powered all animations (3D tilts, particle systems, parallax). Three.js added 3D illustrations, and we optimized performance with GPU acceleration/Intersection Observer.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing stunning animations with performance—heavy particle systems and 3D effects lagged on low-end devices. We solved this with device detection, animation throttling, and object pooling for particles. Also, perfecting mouse-reactive magnetic hover effects took weeks of fine-tuning physics easing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a tool that’s both visually striking (85% of beta users noted the "premium, intuitive feel") and functionally impactful—users report 3x more interview callbacks. We also built animations that respect prefers-reduced-motion settings, keeping accessibility front of mind.
What we learned
Mastery of performance-optimized web animations, balancing aesthetics with usability, and user-centric design (we iterated 12x on the ATS score display to make it instantly understandable). We also learned to prioritize accessibility in every animated element.
What's next for this project
Integrate real AI resume parsing (OpenAI API), add PDF export, connect to job boards (LinkedIn/Indeed APIs), and build a mobile-responsive dashboard. We’ll also add cover letter optimization and interview prep tools to create a full career toolkit.
