Inspiration
I wanted to build something that was both fun and useful, so I turned a simple resume reviewer into a cybersecurity game where players defend their personal information from a hacker.
What it does
Players paste in a resume, stop moving security nodes before time runs out, and watch the hacker gradually scramble the resume. When the game ends, the project rates the resume based on how much of it was successfully protected.
How we built it
I built the project using React, TypeScript, Vite, and CSS animations. AI helped me brainstorm ideas, generate code, and debug problems while I developed the game.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was combining a real resume reviewer with fun game mechanics while keeping the animations, timer, and scrambling effect running smoothly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Im proud that I transformed a normal resume checker into an interactive cybersecurity game and completed my first MLH hackathon project.
What we learned
I learned how to build a React application, create game mechanics with TypeScript, and use AI as a development assistant while solving problems ourselves.
What's next for Resume Review Game
Next, I would like to add real AI resume feedback, multiple difficulty levels, better animations, sound effects, and online leaderboards to make the game even more engaging.
