Inspiration
As students ourselves, we’ve struggled to create resumes that are both professionally structured and creatively designed. Most resume tools lack personalization, visuals, or AI assistance. We wanted to build something that helps students stand out, not blend in by combining design, automation, and intelligence in one tool.
What it does
Student Resume Enhancer is an AI-powered tool that: Transforms raw resume content into beautifully designed templates using Adobe Express Auto-generates job-specific cover letters Adds project visuals using Adobe Firefly Enhances resumes with interactive elements
How we built it
Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS for resume preview and UI Backend: Node.js with Express for API handling Adobe Express API: Used for generating resume templates Adobe Firefly API: Generated project visual thumbnails using text-to-image prompts PDF Services API: Used to finalize and export bundled documents Firebase: For hosting and storage
Challenges we ran into
Adobe Express API required precise template formatting we had to tweak JSON layouts frequently. Firefly outputs needed post-processing to fit layout constraints. Integrating multiple services (AI, design, PDF) smoothly in one user flow required several iterations and testing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a working prototype that takes student input JSON and turns it into a professionally designed resume.
What we learned
Realized the importance of layout consistency when using external templates like Adobe Express.
What's next for Resume Enhancer
Allow users to generate AI video resumes using Adobe Premiere APIs
Create resume templates tailored for specific job roles (Tech, Design, Marketing)
