Inspiration
Many students struggle to create professional resumes that pass ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems). Even with good skills, poorly formatted resumes often lead to rejection. I wanted to build a solution that simplifies resume creation and helps users present their skills effectively without needing design or technical expertise.
What it does
The AI Resume Builder allows users to create ATS-friendly resumes quickly and easily. It provides smart suggestions, multiple templates (Modern, Minimal, and Professional), and real-time editing to generate clean and structured resumes. Users can preview their resume instantly and export it as a PDF.
How I built it
I developed the application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, focusing on a responsive and user-friendly interface. I implemented real-time data updates, dynamic template switching, and PDF generation functionality. The project is deployed on the cloud, making it accessible online.
Challenges I ran into
One of the main challenges was ensuring accurate PDF generation while maintaining the design and layout. I also faced issues with real-time data synchronization between input fields and the preview section, which required careful handling of DOM updates and event listeners.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I’m proud of building a fully functional and user-friendly application from scratch. Successfully implementing multiple templates, real-time preview, and deployment on the cloud were key achievements.
What I learned
Through this project, I improved my frontend development skills, especially in JavaScript for DOM manipulation and event handling. I also learned how to debug real-world issues and optimize user experience.
What's next for AI Resume Builder
I plan to integrate advanced AI features like personalized resume suggestions, keyword optimization for specific job roles, and user authentication for saving resumes. I also aim to enhance design customization and improve scalability.
