🚀 Resume Builder – Project Story

Inspiration

The idea for Resume Builder was born from the frustration of dealing with cluttered, ad-heavy resume websites and the tedious process of formatting resumes in Word or Docs. We wanted to create a clean, fast, and intuitive tool that makes it easy for anyone to generate a professional resume—no design skills or prior experience required.

What it does

Resume Builder allows users to:

  • Enter their personal, educational, and professional information
  • Live preview the resume as they type
  • Download a clean, professional-looking resume in one click
  • Enjoy a responsive and minimal user interface across all devices

How we built it

Tech Stack:

  • Deployment: Netlify

We started by designing a clean layout that mimics modern resume styles. Then, we built dynamic forms that feed data into a live preview. The final output is converted into a downloadable format that works well across browsers and devices.

Challenges we ran into

  • Making HTML/CSS content reliably export as a well-formatted downloadable PDF
  • Ensuring responsiveness and compatibility across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens
  • Designing a professional layout that’s also customizable and scalable
  • Avoiding backend data storage to ensure complete user privacy while maintaining session flow
