Inspiration

Resumes nowadays are the basic requirement for all job and internship seeking individuals. Resume Builder is a web-based software used for automating the process of Resume Writing. This would facilitate people to make, customize, download and print their resumes in a proper standard format.

What it does

The main goal of this project is to make easy the process of writing a resume using modern technology. It will help users to create, customize, edit and build their own resumes according to their own personal information and experiences.

How we built it

The user’s personal information will be stored in a secure database under their own login email address and encrypted password. The users previously made resumes will also be available throughout their membership, unless they decide to delete any of them or deactivate their account. These resumes will be editable, downloadable and printable in PDF format.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Deciding the implementation constraints.
  2. Setting up the database mainframe.
  3. The conversion of textual data into a downloadable PDF version.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. The software will be made compatible on both mobiles as well as desktop computers.
  2. The website will be available 24 hours a day, whenever any user accesses it.
  3. The resumes already made can be edited by the user. Also the information filled during registration will be auto-filled in the resume.
  4. Sessions are enabled so that the user stays connected and secure.
  5. The password is also encrypted and then stored in the database.
  6. The GUI is easy to use, eye-catching, interactive and understandable to all (keeping in mind they know at least basic English).

What we learned

  1. Client Server interactions using code.
  2. Database functionality.
  3. Front-end designing improvement.

What's next for Resume Builder

  1. Aim to make it SEO optimized.
  2. Aim to make it more AI based for suggestions.
