Inspiration
I wanted my portfolio to reflect who I am not just through words, but through design, interactivity, and code. As someone passionate about frontend development and UI/UX, I was tired of traditional, one-dimensional portfolios. This project was my way of turning a static document into a living, scrollable story.
What it does
Devfolio is an interactive, responsive portfolio website that:
- Introduces me with a clean, animated landing section
- Showcases skills and featured projects with visual hierarchy
- Highlights education, experience, and contact info
- Works beautifully on desktop, tablet, and mobile screens
It’s designed to be both impressive and intuitive — something a recruiter can scroll through in 30 seconds or dive deeper into.
How I built it
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript Design principles: Mobile-first, minimalistic layout, smooth user flow Responsive layout: Flexbox and media queries for all screen sizes Deployed using GitHub Pages: parisa-singh.github.io/resume-website
Challenges I ran into
- Fine-tuning layout breakpoints for perfect responsiveness
- Keeping animations subtle but effective — not overwhelming
- Balancing aesthetic with clarity, especially on smaller devices
- Deciding what content to highlight without clutter
Accomplishments that I am proud of
- Built a fully responsive personal website in a hackathon time frame
- Created a resume that feels personal and professional
- Designed and coded a project that blends creativity and utility
- Learned how to tell my story through code
What we learned
- Deepened our understanding of CSS layouts, animations, and transitions
- Gained confidence in designing for mobile-first users
- Learned to balance visuals with readability
- Improved our ability to write clean, modular frontend code
What's next for Devfolio
- Make it responsive for other screen sizes.
- Add dark mode toggle
- Include a project filter system for portfolio browsing
- Integrate GitHub and LinkedIn API to show live updates
- Add downloadable PDF resume and contact form with emailJS
- Possibly turn this into a template others can fork and customize!
