Inspiration

Landing your first job can be stressful and applying can take a lot of time. We wanted a tool to make it more accessible and easier to apply.

What it does

Extracts keywords from your resume and returns a list of jobs which has a high number of matches to your skills.

How we built it

We have a React frontend that communicates with a Flask backend. The backend calls the OpenAI API to extract keywords from a resume, and the LinkedIn API to get information on jobs. Jobs with many keyword matches are displayed at the top.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the right keywords from the resume. Extracting the jobs from linkedin and displaying them.

Using ChatGPT in an innovative way to make the project possible.

I worked on the backend and some parts of the front-end. I contributed to adding to the Python code that extracted the data from the linkedin api as well as the graphic design of the app.
