About Our Projects:

Restik - Smart Restaurant Management Platform

Overview: Restik is a smart restaurant management platform designed to replace paper orders and manual coordination with a fully digital, connected experience. Guests can book tables online, waiters take orders directly on mobile or tablet, and managers control menus, pricing, and staff access in real time.

Technology Stack: Built with React, Node.js, and Stripe, Restik simplifies payments, tipping, and order tracking while ensuring smooth communication between the front and back of house.

Purpose: We built Restik to make restaurant operations faster, cleaner, and more reliable - empowering staff to focus on service rather than systems.

Challenges & Learnings: Along the way, we overcame technical challenges such as Stripe integration, live order syncing, and secure role-based access. Through these, we learned how to blend intuitive UX design with real-time data flow to create a seamless user experience.

Next Steps: We plan to add QR code ordering, AI-powered menu suggestions, and offline support to make Restik the most seamless and intelligent dining experience possible.

UniMarket - University Marketplace with AI-Powered Auctions

Overview: UniMarket is a student-exclusive marketplace inspired by platforms like eBay, where verified students can buy, sell, and auction items securely within their university community.

AI Integration: We integrated the Gemini API to analyse and rate how fair the starting prices of listed items are, helping sellers set realistic and competitive prices.

Challenges & Achievements: We tackled challenges such as real-time bidding updates, secure student authentication, and fine-tuning AI responses for accurate price evaluations. Among our biggest achievements was creating a cashback system that helps students save money, alongside a sustainable revenue model where the platform earns a small tax from each completed sale.

Impact: Beyond practicality, UniMarket was designed to be an engaging and entertaining experience, turning campus trading into a fun and social activity.

Learnings & Future Plans: Through this project, we learned to handle real-time data, integrate AI effectively, and prioritise user trust and simplicity. Next, we plan to add secure in-app payments and expand the AI system to predict bid ranges and suggest optimal prices.

When Worlds Collide

Our project UniMarket embodies the theme “When Worlds Collide” by merging two traditionally separate environments - the financial and auction world with the student community. While online marketplaces are typically part of large, profit-driven industries, UniMarket brings these professional financial systems into a student-only ecosystem. This fusion allows students to experience real-world economic dynamics - bidding, pricing, cashback, and trading - in a safe and familiar setting.

Through this collision, UniMarket transforms everyday student interactions into opportunities for learning, entrepreneurship, and community growth — making the world of finance both accessible and meaningful for students.
