Inspiration

Restart is for all those times we start our tasks only to cross them off but never to finish them in totality, it's about seeing you show up even when you are tired or when you feel not bad but not good either. Restart started from our college routine, we are always behind tasks, we take the energy to get our dreams started in action but lose momentum in between and we are still only 19 so we compare our lives with our rooomate who has it all figured out and rue our days. We needed something intuitive but with a stronger statement of if you are not consistent then start from the beginning bud.

What it does

Restart is a smart productivity app designed to help you build consistency with compassion. Task Tagging & Prioritization — Organize your to-dos based on what truly matters. Mood-Based Suggestions — A mood checker gently suggests suitable tasks or encourages breaks based on how you're feeling. Streak Tracker — Track your consistency and celebrate even the smallest wins. Motivational Audio-Visuals — Choose your vibe: a pep talk, a calming soundscape, or a song that lights you up. Gentle Nudges — Restart never yells; it nudges. If you’re too tired to run, it reminds you to walk. If you can’t walk, just crawl — but don’t stop.

How we built it

Built it using bolt.new, used supbase for database and netlify for deployment

Challenges we ran into

Mood-Based AI Suggestions — Finding the balance between helpful and overbearing was tough. We didn’t want Restart to enforce goals, but to guide users with emotional intelligence. UI/UX Design — We spent hours curating a color palette and interface that felt soothing yet motivating, not clinical or overwhelming.

We’re proud that Restart feels real — like a product we want to use. It’s not just functional; it feels like a friend. A gentle, understanding one that tells you: “If you’re tired, it’s okay — just don’t quit.”
