Inspiration

We've all had late night study moments where we see the time and calculate how many hours of sleep we'll get that night. But hours of sleep don't tell us everything. That's why we built a sleep schedule/exam performance manager, so we can rest assured during exams.

What it does

Rest Assured calculates your expected performance for an exam based on your planned sleeping hours the night before. It takes into account expected preparation and travel time to recommend a waking time for optimal exam performance.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges were finding and compiling data from research on the impact of sleep deprivation on cognitive performance levels. We compiled and averaged the values from published studies and used it to create a formula for calculating predicted performance levels from planned bedtime and waketime.

What's next for Rest Assured

We are planning on researching the effects of caffeine intake on sleep and exam performance to include caffeine levels as a factor in our sleep and performance predictions.
