Inspiration

ResQ was born from a shared desire to revolutionize disaster recovery. Witnessing the inefficiencies of existing systems, we were inspired to create a more accessible, intelligent, and efficient solution.

What it does

ResQ is a cutting-edge disaster recovery assistant that leverages voice activation to swiftly connect users in distress with qualified helpers. Our intelligent algorithm matches users with nearby responders based on several critical factors, ensuring faster and more effective assistance.

How we built it

We built ResQ using the robust MERN stack, comprising MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js. Our team worked tirelessly to create a seamless user experience that empowers people in times of crisis. We also leveraged Google Cloud Services and APIs like the Natural Language API, Cloud Healthcare AI, and the Vertex AI

Challenges we ran into

We had to tackle challenges like integrate real-time location tracking, and fine-tune our intelligent helper assignment algorithm. We also had a hard time getting those 25$ worth credits in Google cloud to make use of the Services and APIs

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of the ResQ full stack web app we've created in a span of 1 day . Our unique approach to voice-activated disaster recovery, the accuracy of our helper assignment system, particularly the way we used google clouds Natural Language API to perform speech to text and Text Analysis to get important structured data to make prediction systems and highly efficient recommendation systems

What we learned

Throughout the development of ResQ, we've gained invaluable insights into user centric design, experience with MERN Stack and Google Cloud Services and APIs that we leveraged for cutting edge Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for training models for the purpose of Prediction and Recommendation systems. We learned the importance of teamwork and more importantly we learned to have fun

What's next for resQ

Our journey is far from over. We plan to expand ResQ's reach, collaborate with disaster relief organizations, and continually enhance our features. We're committed to ensuring ResQ remains at the forefront of innovative disaster recovery solutions. We plan on utilizing video and audio BLOBS for accurate and enhanced prediction of the situation severity, tagging hotspots of disaster zones for further analysis. and incorporate notifications and alerts for high severity situations.
