Inspiration

Join our community in reducing food waste across NUS. Find and share buffet leftovers to ensure no good food goes to waste. Together, we can make a significant impact on sustainability and foster a culture of sharing within our campus community.

What it does

Users can quickly find food-sharing events without scrolling through a cluttered Telegram group. Users can view buffet rescue listings conveniently on our website and view the rescues on a map view easily. The listings also contain essential information such as location, food name and even whether its halal or vegetarian!

Not only that, users can also rescue food by posting their own listings around NUS and contribute to the greater good. Users can also favourite their most visited locations in NUS to easily view buffet rescues near them. All in all, this is a ONE STOP website to save food and share food!

How we built it

Next.js, React, Vercel, Telegram API, Supabase

Challenges we ran into

It was quite difficult to integrate the Telegram API with Supabase due to insufficient documentation provided by Telegram.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully integrating the Telegram API with the Supabase such that the website responds to real time updates from the Buffet Response messages on the group chat.

What we learned

It was quite tough to finish the website in two days but I am glad we made it.

What's next for ResQ

  • mobile app expansion
  • educational awareness on the platform
  • expansion to other Universities
