Communication is an integral part of our lives, we interact with our community in different ways but the main mean of communication is verbal speech. Because of our medical background, we tend to deal and interact with individuals of different disorders hindering their abilities to interact and communicate with their community. Such issue prevents them from practicing their minimal right of conveying what they want and need along with being understood and interacted with. Thus, their quality of life would be effected negatively. Our Responsum feature was inspired by our patients. It will help in bridging the gab between them and their society by providing them with different means of communication that serves their needs resulting in better quality of life and feeling complete and independent. Responsum was built by a team who thrive to improve the quality of life by meeting the primary need that is communication. Using medical and communication data bases to build and tailor the best augmentative and alternative communication for individuals with communication disorders. Time was our first obstacle along with the limited explanation process. During the process we learned that taking our innate behavior for granted will cloud our judgement regarding matters related to quality of like and not saving it; how would they really live if they are not able to say hello! Responsum is the voice for those who can’t verbally speak, it’s their speech, their thoughts and simply their right!
