Inspiration

I see many small issues like street light not working, dead animals, or trash on road, broken pavement. For these issues, I would either report it to the concerned department, the utility company or in some case cases, I don't know who would be the responsible authority who could resolve that issue.

What it does

We have a centralized reporting website where we can upload pictures, addresses, descriptions of the issue. The website would sort the issues based on tags, reporting category, and assign them to respective companies.

How I built it

The website is built in a local env with Python Flask, MySql connectivity to the database. Used Google Geolocate API to gather the location of the user. Used HTML, JavaScript for web design.

Challenges I ran into

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Though the website is still local, I'm confident I can host it on the cloud and make it public.

What I learned

Learned about Javascript and Google APIs.

What's next for Responsible Report

UI design optimization, Issue report monitoring/status updates, API's for stakeholders to access issue reports.
