What it does
It uses twilio services to send messages to people your choose to let them know your situation during a natural disasters. It cuts down the time you need to inform those you care about and focus on your current situation.
How I built it
I built it using MEAN stack.
Challenges I ran into
Using MEAN stack instead of LAMP due to the fact that 90% of twilio's tutorials and docs are for PHP. Pushing to bluemix via CF.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
What I learned
Try to use the language that has the most help. It makes it easier to implement features.
What's next for Responder
Decide wether or not to change the codebase to be more twilio compatible, because they are the main service provider. Build the rest of the core features and work on detection algorithms for natural disasters.
