Inspiration

As our school community grows, so do the different resources available. All of the resources are really helpful, but the average student only knows a certain number of these, which is likely to be less than those that they could use. Simply put, because many resources are scattered through different websites (and some are not even online), we hope to centralize them all in a comprehensive website.

What it does

Up to now, you can find updated information about the following at the College of San Mateo:

  • Clubs
  • Peer Tutoring Hours
  • Study Rooms
  • Things you can borrow ## How we built it Our project relies completely on Django. The main languages we used are Python, HTML (with Jinja2), and CSS. The website is divided into several apps, and it also includes a Dashboard that can be used for school centers to update information that is not available elsewhere online. ## Challenges we ran into We had to gather information throughout the main centers on our campus; in most cases, they were willing to help. Other than that, there are the countless hours of debugging and testing with such a limited amount of time. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of We are quite proud of all that we could put together, despite the fact of approaching the end of the semester and having to carry out decisive assignments as well. It was because we all worked together that we could get it so fast. ## What we learned We've learnt along the way innumerable things about the internal functioning of a website. Successfully acknowledging important techniques, algorithms, and standard web procedures. ## What's next for Resources, at CSM Ideally, we want it to grow to be the main tool for finding resources, it could also be extended to Skyline and Cañada College.
