Inspiration

Having spent numerous hours scouring the web for various summer programs, opportunities, and scholarships resulted in me asking: is there a more efficient way? Thus, with the use of python and Chat Gpt 3.5 -turbo, low income first generation high school students are able to stand out on their college applications with easier to access programs.

What it does

It asks prompts as well as your chatgpt API key (since I cannot disclose my own key with the addition of not having sufficient funds on the account) as well as background information which allows chatgpt to search for a response.

How we built it

I used VS Code with the python3 language using the openai library import.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into not being able to get a response from chatgpt due to insufficient funds from my openai account resulting in us using the user's API key to use their account.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having chatgpt working as recently its documentation changed and we had to adapt our previous background knowledge to overcome this change.

What we learned

We learned how to incorporate chatgpt within our programs as well as work around its problems.

What's next for Resource Assistant

The next step for this program is to test it out with users, add funds to the account, and create a website to allow world-wide access to this program.
