Inspiration

The inspiration behind creating a resolution tracking app came from the realization that many people struggle to follow through on their resolutions each year. It can be difficult to stay motivated and on track, especially when life gets in the way. I wanted to create a tool that would make it easier for people to set and achieve their goals, by providing a structured plan and regular reminders. I also wanted to create a supportive community where users could connect with others who are also working towards their resolutions. Our app, ResoTrack, is designed to be a simple and effective way for users to turn their resolutions into reality.

What it does

Customized goal planning

Users can enter their resolutions and the app creates a personalized plan for them to follow, with specific action items and deadlines. Users can also choose from a selection of emojis to represent their goals.

Progress tracking

Users can track their progress towards their goals and see their accomplishments along the way. They can also use emojis to represent their progress.

Personalized tips and resources

The app can provide users with personalized tips and resources based on their specific goals and progress. These tips can be accompanied by relevant emojis to make them more visually appealing and memorable.

Emoji-themed achievements

The app can offer users special achievements and rewards for meeting certain milestones or completing certain tasks. These achievements can be represented by emojis.

How we built it

The ResoTrack App is a fun and interactive way to set and achieve your goals. Built with React, the app is designed to be efficient and easy to use, with a variety of reusable components that make it quick to build and update the view as data changes. The backend of the app is handled by Auth0, a comprehensive platform for user authentication and authorization. This allows users to easily sign up and log in to the app, and also ensures that their access to protected resources is securely managed. With its combination of React and Auth0, the ResoTrack App is a reliable and user-friendly tool for tracking your resolutions and making this your best year yet.

Challenges we ran into

Designing the user interface: Designing a user interface that is both visually appealing and easy to use. Finding the right balance between using emojis to add visual interest and not overwhelming the user with too many emojis.

Storing and displaying emojis: Another challenge may be storing and displaying emojis in a way that is efficient and consistent across different devices and platforms. How to handle different emoji formats and ensure that the app can display the emojis correctly on all devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing the ResoTrack app in just two days after solving many state errors and emoji loading error is just Awesome.

What we learned

User authentication and authorization: I was using Auth0 for the First Time and able to integrate with my Frontend App.

What's next for ResoTrack

Reminders: Users can set reminders for themselves to stay on track and stay motivated. These reminders can include emojis to add a fun, lighthearted touch.

Personalized tips and resources: The app can provide users with personalized tips and resources based on their specific goals and progress. These tips can be accompanied by relevant emojis to make them more visually appealing and memorable.

Integration with messaging apps: The app can integrate with messaging apps, such as texting or social media, to allow users to share their progress and communicate with others using emojis.
