Inspiration

My art explainer project was inspired by a passion for both technology and art history. I saw that, while famous paintings are recognized worldwide, the stories behind them—their history, symbolism, and the artists’ intentions—are often unknown or unappreciated by the general audience. I wanted to bridge this gap by making art more accessible, interactive, and engaging for everyone, regardless of their background. I wanted a tool I could use to learn about art, instead of just reading wikis

What it does

The App uses Perplexity AI to generate an art lesson, gathering live, factual, and interesting information about the artwork, and combines it with an engaging visual.

I built the project using FastAPI for backend Svelte for frontend Three.js, perplexity reasoning for the AI model,

Challenges we ran into

Using a computer vision model to aid in the context of lesson generation was a bit challenging
