Inspiration
In college and hostels, whenever we have problems like no WiFi, water leakage, electricity issue, or any maintenance problem, there is no proper system. Students don’t know whom to contact, and staff also get confused because everything is manual. So I got the idea to build one simple platform which can make complaints easy for students and also easy for the management to understand.
What it does
ResolveX is a smart AI system where students can submit complaints using text, voice, or image.
AI reads the problem, understands it, puts it in the correct category, and sends it to the right department. Students can also check the live status like Open, In Progress, or Resolved. For sensitive issues like bullying or harassment, students can submit anonymously. Owners/Admins get a clean dashboard where they can see all issues clearly without confusion.
How we built it
First, we designed a very simple user page so any student can submit a complaint easily.
Then for the backend, we added AI to detect the problem type and set priority. We tried to make the dashboard simple because owners usually don’t understand complex UI. So we focused on clean layout, big categories, and easy navigation. We used basic tools, APIs, and some AI models to make everything automatic.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was the dashboard design. Owners said it looked messy, and they couldn’t understand the full page properly. We tried different designs until it became simple and clear. Another challenge was making AI understand different types of problems because students write in different styles. But finally, we trained it properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that the user side is very simple and extremely easy to use. Also proud that AI is able to auto-categorize complaints correctly. The dashboard also became much cleaner than before and owner-friendly. Overall, the full app works smoothly from complaint submission to resolution.
What we learned
We learned how important UI/UX is, especially for people who are not tech experts. We also learned how to integrate AI with normal backend systems. Communication with users helped us improve the design and workflow. Overall, we learned how to build a full app that is actually useful.
What's next for ResolveX
Next, we want to add:
Full analytics for admins Auto-reminder system Multi-language support Faster AI classification A mobile app version We also want to test it in real colleges to get more feedback.
