Inspiration
A global place for research datas is still missing. Although there are a lot of databases. Now, the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a persistent identifier or handle used to uniquely identify objects, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Libraries and publisher use them for an unique identification of their articles and books.
What it does
The DApp uses Uport to identify the researcher together with the DOI of his research data. The DApp example implements the researcher view. The researcher could be identified with his QR-Code (that's language independent) and his papers and books could be uniquely identified with the DOI.
How we built it
Uport, truffle, webpack, smart contracts
Challenges I ran into
Integration of uport on the testnet. Integration of the smart contract in the interface.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Simple and useful. With uport, somebody can use QR-Codes to identify. And with the DOIs on the blockchain, the papers and book are collected with one App.
What I learned
First own DApp.
What's next for Research Market Place
Smart contract needs further work. And an additional 'normal' API request to get the data source related to the DOI.
Built With
- javascript
- truffle
- webpack
