We were inspired to make this project because Aditi had remembered that she was part of the Oyster Gardening team at Dunloggin Middle School, where they help oysters grow to adulthood. This inspired the idea of us going into pollution with the bay and how we can help.
What it does
Our project describes an idea of which that if people in the Howard County area install a green roof, rain barrel, or rain garden at their house, they get entered into a raffle with a cash prize. This encourages people to install these items for the better of the society and themselves.
How we built it
We used HTML and CSS to design our website.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge we ran into was we could figure out how to upload images to the website. We talked amongst ourselves and to our mentors and they helped us figure out how to upload them.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the buttons that we created to navigate throughout the pages of the website.
What we learned
We learned more about CSS and the many different things you can d with it, as before we assumed all it could do was change the colors of aspects of the page.
What's next for Rescuing the Chesapeake
We want to implement a real submission form that people can send images to us of their implemented rain barrel, rain garden, or green roof so that they can actually be entered into the raffle.
