RescuePath – AI Powered Emergency Response System

Inspiration

Road accidents and medical emergencies often become fatal because help arrives too late. Many victims are unconscious or unable to call for help, causing the "Golden Hour" to be lost. We built RescuePath to automatically detect accidents and instantly notify emergency services, reducing response time and increasing the chances of saving lives.

What it does

RescuePath is an AI-powered emergency response system that detects accidents using multiple smart sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS, vibration sensor, and microphone. AI verifies the incident, performs a 20-second voice confirmation, and if there is no response, automatically sends live location and emergency alerts to family members, nearby hospitals, ambulance services, and police. It also generates an AI-based incident report with important details.

How we built it

We designed a multi-sensor accident detection workflow where AI combines data from different sensors to improve accuracy and reduce false alarms. The system analyzes sensor data, verifies the emergency, shares the victim's live GPS location, sends alerts, and prepares an incident report. We also designed a live AI command center dashboard to monitor the complete emergency response process.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenges were reducing false accident detections, combining data from multiple sensors accurately, and creating a fast response workflow. We also worked on ensuring that alerts are sent quickly while keeping the system reliable and scalable.

What we learned

This project helped us understand AI-based sensor fusion, emergency response workflows, real-time location sharing, and the importance of designing technology that can have a real social impact.

Future Plans

In the future, we plan to integrate RescuePath with real emergency services, improve AI accuracy, support wearable devices and connected vehicles, and expand it into a nationwide emergency response platform that can save more lives.
